Professor Wahib Salha, Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt.
Wahib Salha was born in Brazil in 1976 and began training Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 17, interrupting his training twice. First when he joined the Brazilian Army where he graduated as a Temporary Officer and again when he decided to learn English overseas. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in Brazil and holds a Certificate IV in Fitness and Diploma in Strength and Conditioning in Australia.
"I always had a dream to open a Jiu-Jitsu Gym in New Zealand and starting to spread the 'Arte Suave' in Aotearoa, because when I lived in New Zealand from 2005 to 2008, before moving to Australia, there were no Jiu-Jitsu Gyms around here, maybe small groups getting together to train but nothing official".
After 7 years in Australia and 4 years in Brazil, Wahib decided to return to New Zealand with his family and collaborate with the expansion of Jiu-Jitsu for the New Zealand people. Wahib specializes in self-defense, with experience in training Civil Police and Military Police in Brazil.
"We offer military and police discounts in our gym because I believe that every military man should have the knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu for their day-by-day duties".
What we see today is a Police force well-trained intellectually and physically but without any self-defense training, always depending on a taser or gun to protect himself from an offender.
